The Board of Trustees of the Amesbury Public Library would like to welcome you to the library’s website and hope that you will come in soon to visit our facility.
If you’ve never been in before, we invite you to come tour our historic building and familiarize yourself with our collections, services, and programs.
If you haven’t been in for a while, we welcome you back; there’s always a lot going on and many new items in our various collections, whether books, DVDs, CDs, audio books, or periodicals. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just ask. There’s always a knowledgeable librarian close at hand.

The Friends of the Amesbury Public Library
The mission of the Friends of the Amesbury Public Library, as a volunteer organization, is to support the Library and staff, to enhance the resources and services of the Library, and to enrich our community. We focus our attention on the local and extended community of library patrons and accomplish our mission through collaboration, fundraising, allocation of funds, and sponsorship of programs for the community.
As Friends of the Amesbury Public Library, we believe in: literacy, life-long learning, and the enjoyment of reading. We also believe that he Library is more than bricks, bookshelves, and whispers; it is people, programs and an island of trust. These fundamental beliefs underlie and support our commitment to fulfilling the Mission of the Friends of the Amesbury Public Library.

The Friends of the Library meet every 1st Monday of the month, except for holidays (no meetings held in July & August). All meetings are scheduled for 1pm and are held downstairs at the Library

- Your donations are needed and welcome! If you are able to carry your books to our lower level, you may bring them at any time during open hours.
