Library Tours
We offer tours for your classes and preschools. We can do a quick overview of the layout of the library and our rules or in-depth explanation of our computer catalog. We can also do book talks, read a story, or add other components upon request. Please contact the children’s librarian to schedule.
Teacher Resource Collection
The library has a special collection for teachers that offers resources on various topics including special needs, behavior issues, educational activities, curriculum ideas, and many others resources. It is located upstairs in the children’s room.
Special Storytimes
We can do a special storytime for your class, the librarians’ schedule permitting. We can do it as part of a tour or as a separate program. We love to have you visit us, but we can also bring the library to you. With prior arrangement with the children’s librarian, we can also do a special storytime or presentation in your classroom. Please contact the children’s librarian to schedule.
Teacher Book Bags
Teachers and homeschoolers in Amesbury can request a book bag (if you live in Amesbury but teach elsewhere or teach in Amesbury but live elsewhere, you still qualify!). It can be on any topic you need and includes up to 25 books. Bags are checked out for a six week period and are non-renewable.
The children’s staff is happy to put together the bag for you, but needs at least a week’s notice to complete a bag. Please email, call or stop by with your request.
